I miss Chickie's on River Road and Frankie's on the corner of Main and River. That's when the word Service still meant something to a service station.

I like S&N Sunoco on River Road.

I grew up across the street from Chickie Bensen's Sunoco (on the corner of RIver and Cedar) station (dance studio there now). He taught me how to walk on stilts, he rescued my sister when she climbed the tree too high, and when we started driving he used to let us owe him for gas money. And in the gas crisis we got to park our car in the pump line overnight and be the first one there in the morning (as long as we woke up in time). And Frankies on Main and River would fix my mom's car and let her pay it off on time. ( a little at a time). Mayor Ann Subrizi

Delta/Kirk's on the corner of River and Henley. They always seem to have the lowest gas prices in town.
