The Week Ahead In New Milford

With Sandy, Athena and the elections behind us, find out what's going on in town this week.

Despite the fact that the Borough is closed Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans Day, the Mayor and Council will be meeting for their monthly work session at 7 pm in the upstairs conference room of Borough Hall.

The Zoning Board planner is scheduled to appear to discuss rezoning as well as the proposed ordinance regarding it. The Mayor and Council voted to authorize Phillips Preiss and Grygiel, LLC (the appointed Zoning Board planner in the United Water property hearings) to proceed with a rezoning study of the 13-acre United Water property during their May work session.

The S. Hekemian Group is currently in contract with United Water to purchase the property and are seeking variances to construct a 70,500 sq. ft. supermarket, a 4,300 sq. ft. bank, a 221 unit multi unit housing complex with a four-story 428 spaced parking garage.
