Rats Run Wild on Henley, Plaguing Residents

Residents on Henley Street, in the area of Stockton Street, are trying to evict some new neighbors that seem to be taking over the neighborhood--rats.  

According to one of the residents, Maria Sterk, there were rats every now and then, "But in the last two months the rat problem has gotten worse." But no one seems to know why. 

Flash Flooding Forces Road Closures in Town

Monday morning's fast and heavy downpour caused flash flooding that resulted in the temporary closing of portions of Boulevard. According to New Milford Chief of Police Frank Papapietro, areas of town that normally do not experience flooding, were hit hard by the rapid accumulation of rain water that overwhelmed the storm sewers.

New Milford Little League Honored at CitiField

Players from New Milford Little League and their families were honored Tuesday night at CitiField during the Mets and Diamondbacks game. 

All of this was part of the league receiving an SNY Play Ball! grant for $5,000 from the Mets broadcast network and NY Community Bank. The grants are awarded to programs in the Tri-State area in need of assistance, and with New Milford's fields damaged by Hurricane Sandy and floods over the years, they were selected as a 2013 recipient.

Knights of Columbus Present Community Service Awards to First Responders

St. Joseph's Council #3814 Knights of Columbus New Milford/Oradell recognized first responders from New Milford and Oradell for their community service and presented scholarships to two graduating eighth graders from St. Joseph's School.

Police Officers, Fire fighters and EMT's were recognized by the Knight's for their exceptional service to the communities of New Milford and Oradell. 

Borough Web Site Gets a New Look

The Borough launched its new and improved website Monday morning. Designed to provide residents with timely information and easier access  to information, the new website is up and running.
