New Milford Rock Jam Draws Large Crowd

Approximately 200 people came to the Elks Lodge Saturday as New Milford musicians took the stage for one night to play to their hometown audience.

Organized by Jerry D'Imperio (Jerry D), NMHS class of '72 and owner of Hot Party Entertainment, it was the first of what many hoped would become an annual event. 

"New Milford is filled with talented musicians," said D'Imperio, the founding member of "3D Rock Band," featuring his daughter Lauren and son Bryan. "I wanted to have one night where we could all perform on the same stage together."

Jack Hoffmann, NMHS class of 72 said, "This is like one big New Milford class reunion. There are at least 15 to 20 classes represented here tonight."

"There's a reason you come back to your roots in New Milford. This is one of them," Hoffman said.

New Milford musicians who came of age in the 1960's, 70's and 80's played the music of their generation, bringing the party to life as the dance floor was crowded with some original ladies from the 80's who could still rock a mini skirt and heels.

Performers included Gregory Riedel, Nappy Martin, Nicholas Mancini and Nicholas Mancini, Jr. They were followed by the bands F-R-L, That 60's Band, Outerbridge Crossing Band, Two Fifths Crazy, Full Stride, 3D Rock Band and Kick Start Charlie.

As Kick Start Charlie took the stage for a final set, the crowd on the dance floor was not ready to let the evening end. 

"What Jerry has built here tonight, I hope he does every year," Hoffmann said.
