League Reminds New Milford Residents of New Jersey Voter Registration Deadline

The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley reminds New Milford residents that New Jersey's special primary election for the office of U.S. Senate left vacant by the death of Congressman Senator Frank Lautenberg will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. The voter registration deadline for the special primary election is Tuesday, July 23, 2013.

"If you've moved recently, or if you have never registered to vote before, it's really time to do so now, because three elections are taking place within the next few months," said Chris Sagona, President, League of Women Voters of Northern Valley.  "It's not only the dates of the elections that are relevant.  It's very important to be aware of the deadlines for registration.  This is also a good time to give a friendly reminder to family members, friends or neighbors that these deadlines are quickly approaching."

The deadline to apply by mail for a vote by mail ballot is Tuesday, August 6.  The Bergen County Clerk’s office must receive the application by that date.  The deadline to apply in-person for a vote by mail ballot is Monday, August 12 by 3 p.m. at the Bergen County Clerk’s office.  Vote by mail applications are available at www.lwvnj.org
