Bergen County 'Art in the Park' Call for Artists

Bergen County's Art in the Park Show is looking for artists to exhibit their work.

The 49th Annual Bergen County Art in the Park Show and Concert is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Van Saun County Park in Paramus.  The show will be held in Lot 4, area F. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 13. 

This is a free show sponsored by the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, with funds made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Approximately 100 adult visual artists will be featured in this exhibition representing an exciting wide scope of artistic diversity found within northern New Jersey.  This juried show is judged in five categories with cash prizes in each:

  • Acrylics/Oils
  • Drawings/Prints/Pastels 
  • Mixed Media
  • Watercolors 
  • Photography (Digital & Traditional)   

First Place winner receives $150. 2nd place: $125; 3rd Place: $75 and Best in Show: $500. 

A special jazz performance will be presented by The Loren Daniels Quartet from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Loren’s professional experience as a jazz pianist/vocalist spans over 25 years. He has performed with many notable musicians. The Loren Daniels Quartet consists of Loren Daniels - piano, Mike Richmond - bass, Jonathon Peretz - drums and Jackie Jones - vocals.

For more information or if you are a visual artist and would like to exhibit your 2-dimensional work, please call 201-336-7292 for a registration form. Registrations are due by October 3, 2013. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis; the show has a tendency to fill up fast.
