Late Auxiliary Police Chief Honored With Portrait

In honor of his years of dedication of service to New Milford, the town is presented with a portrait of former Auxiliary Police Chief Andrew Boele.

Ask anyone who knew Andy Boele what he was like and they will tell you three things. One, he loved to laugh. Two, he was a man who never tired of giving so much of himself to the town. And three, he was an avid fisherman.

Boele, who passed away earlier this year, had been a member of New Milford's Auxiliary Police since 1983, rising to the rank of Chief. He was also a member of the Ambulance Corps.

"Andy had an infectious laugh," Police Chief Frank Papapietro recalls with a smile.
