New Milford Ranked as 11th Safest Community in New Jersey

A home security website conducted an investigation and reviewed FBI data to compile the list of 50 Safest Communities in New Jersey.

New Milford was ranked No. 11 on a list of the 50 Safest Communities in New Jersey compiled by SafeWise.com, a website that compares home security options.

According to SafeWise.com, they used data from the FBI’s 2011 Crime in the U.S. Report with their own investigation to compile the list.

Pair abundant recreation and historic preservation with a vibrant business community and you’ve created New Milford,” reads the article. “From adult craft classes to children’s sports camps, women’s softball and special events like Easter egg hunts, New Milford keeps your active family entertained for a nominal charge.”

New Milford was ranked fourth among Bergen County communities, behind Mahwah, who took the No. 1 spot, No. 6 Dumont and No. 8 Bergenfield.

I feel very safe in our community. Thank you NMPD!

For the RECORD, New Milford is very safe thanks to NMPD , abundant recreation , yes if you look at all the youth programs like little league and junior football and the abundant volunteers who make sure it runs perfect. If you look at parkland and recreation space, we are seriously short , much worse than average . Vibrant business community ? Hard working yes , struggling , yes . Vibrant , not so sure .

FYI: Larry Inserra HAS been contacted (several times) but has chosen to ignore correspondence. I have copies of the letters that I have sent, and they are POLITE letters. I even pointed out that the proposed redevelopment by Brunetti might be a very good reason to keep ShopRite in its current location (and that letter was sent in April 2013). NOTHING...not a single word in response from the man that Pagano told us cared SO much about New Milford. I'm sure that whoever is sitting next to Ulises will make room for you when you arrive. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday. I hope you will also address the zoning board with your own concerns about this monstrosity. Remember, you only have 10 minutes!
