Long-Time New Milford Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday

Over the last 61 years Alderdice has become a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother.

Monday was a very special day for at least one New Milford resident. Mildred Rosalie Alderdice celebrated her 100th birthday.

Alderdice moved to New Milford in 1952 with her husband Thomas and their three daughters. Over the last 61 years Alderdice has become a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother.

Family members regard Alderdice as a joke-teller extraordinaire and are amazed by her memory for the yarns.

Alderdice has enjoyed creating miniature carvings of furniture for years and still enjoys singing and dancing as a long-standing member of SCORE. Home Depot is one of her favorite places as she loves to buy materials for different projects. According to family, Alderdice laid a new kitchen floor just a few years ago.
