Got Food? Think Before You Buy. League of Women Voters Agricultural Study to be Presented at Annual Meeting.

Have you ever wondered what's really in your food?  The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley will present highlights from its agricultural study at the annual meeting on June 4.  The public is invited to attend the meeting at Griffin's Bar & Grill, 44 East Madison Avenue in Cresskill.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner comprised of a choice of soup or salad, three entrees, dessert and coffee.  The charge for the dinner is $25 per person with a cash bar.

Speakers Ellen Bakish, Anne Lander, and Fran Molnar will present the study's key findings about technological and financial issues affecting our food.  Learn more about genetically modified organisms, herbicides, pesticides, agricultural water pollution, aquifer depletion, antibiotics in livestock, and accurate food labeling.  Financial issues, including consolidation in agricultural industries, crop subsidies and the federal agricultural regulatory process, will be examined.  A question and answer period will follow.
