Special Meeting of the Zoning Board Tops the Week Ahead
Board of Education meeting, special meeting of the Zoning Board and Gibbs Fundraiser dominate the week ahead.
All New Milford public schools will be closed Monday for Rosh Hashanah.
NOTE: The meeting of the Planning Board scheduled for Tuesday at 7:30pm has been cancelled.
On Wednesday, there will be a regular meeting of the Board of Education. The meeting will be in the Media Center of New Milford High School at 7 pm.
Also on Wednesday is the special meeting of the Zoning Board devoted entirely to the hearing of the site plan application for the United Water Company property. The meeting will begin at 7pm in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall.
At the last special meeting on August 23, Michael Dipple, Hekemian's engineering expert, was recalled to answer questions from the public. During that meeting, Dipple also faced further questioning by members of SOD (Stop Over Development) about the effectiveness of the infiltration systems designed to control flooding that he has proposed for the site.
Dipple testified that he is confident that the two infiltration systems that will be installed by the courtyard of the 221 unit apartment complex and behind the bank will be sufficient in controlling runoff.
Although the traffic expert is expected to return, we have been unable to confirm this at the time of printing.
On Saturday, Gibbs Elementary School 5th grade fundraising committee is hosting a PTO sponsored clothing and accessory sale 9am to 4pm with proceeds going towards graduation preparations for the Class of 2013.
They are seeking donations of gently used (or new), wearable clothing in all sizes, for all seasons, for men, women, children, and babies. Shoes, belts, jackets, coats, hats, scarves, handbags are welcome, as well.
Please bring your donations to Gibbs School on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st from 3pm-8pm.
Clothes must be CLEAN and, where possible, sorted by gender, size, and marked as adult or child. Shoes should be kept separate. Clearly identifying the contents by marking the outsides of the bags will be a huge help during the sorting process.
