Second Luring Incident Under Investigation in New Milford
A 10-year old girl and 7-year old boy allegedly approached near Faller Drive and River Road.
New Milford Police are investigating a second possible luring incident that occurred around 8:15 a.m. Thursday near Faller Drive and River Road.
According to Police Chief Frank Papapietro, a 10-year old female and her 7-year old brother reported that while walking to school a white male in a parked silver four-door sedan rolled down his window and tried to make conversation with them as they walked past, but they ran away.
Papapietro said that this incident came to light during a class discussion. While the teacher of the 10-year was talking to the class about the recent lurings, the girl reported what had happened to her on the way to school, he said.
This incident occurred on the same day that a 17-year old female reported that after stepping off her school bus at Henley Avenue and Boulevard, she was approached by male in a silver four-door sedan with a squared off front and rear design who asked her if she wanted a ride.
The victim of that incident described the driver as a white male in his mid-40's with a prominently large nose, Papapietro said. He was further described as having short brown hair, brown eyes, bushy eyebrows and a round face. He was wearing a black jacket.
"It was because the girl's teacher was informing her class about the need to practice safety and report anytime a stranger tries to engage them that this incident was brought to our attention," Papapietro said.
Although the cars described in both incidents are similar, Papapietro said that police are not ready to make a connection between the two at this time.

Chief:
We have been shown just how professional our police are time and time again. BUT, if you think it's a good idea, please tell us what we can do to nail this degenerate?
I would hope you could supply an official make of the car, what the perp looks like, the normal hours of his attempts, and something that might help us all get him.
Of course, I would imagine you do NOT want any of us civilians to get involved personally, but if you could tell us what you would like us to do ,I would appreciate it.
Thanks Chief.

I did read the article before, but forgot which subject matter it fell under and I do believe we were going to get a sketch of the lowlife.

I am really looking forward to day this creep is captured, and hopefully prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If this degenerate is responsible for the incidents in Maywood, Hackensack, Oradell and New Milford it would appear to me that he would know he is being sought and thinks he is smarter than law enforcement. It also appears his attempts have escalated on frequency and the attempwt to physically grab a 12 year old in Hackensack might indicate a willingness to continue until he succeeds at abducting someone's child. Parents please be extra careful. I have faith in our local police force and believe Cheif Papaprieto is doing an excellent job, but we can never be to careful. As for myself , I have warned my children, I continue to be vigilant, I am willing to help anyone who may have a child that needs a ride home from school or to an extracurricular event. We need to keep our eyes and eyes open and capture this idiot!
