For the umpteenth time, DON'T YOU THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA IF U W TOOK MAYBE JUST AN HOUR ON A WEEKEND AND LET US (as group) WALK or maybe ride on buses THROUGH THE AREA??????? Lori has mentioned to me how beautiful the area truly is and wouldn't you think a guided tour (if you will) might change some minds?

Take a ride through the (relatively) new Overpeck Park area. It seems that something which is now as peaceful and serene as O. P. could never have come from the quagmire that it HAD been.

The skating rink is located next to the swim club. Opening night was last night. Hopefully they will be able to remain open for a few more days before the weather changes. Go down and check it out. Its great outdoor winter fun.

A special thank you to our Recreation volunteers who construct, maintain, and oversee the operations of the ice rink: Norman Krause, Pete Tomasczewski, Bart Nativo, and Gary Bowers. For them, it is a labor of love.

Do you need to be a Swim Club member to use the skating rink?

Jimmy Drake. These pics are not from O.P but instead from in front of my house and we would not like a tour bus on our tiny dirt road. It is beautiful though, and being a public road you are more than welcome to take a walk and look at the river.

Hey Ali, i figured they were pictures of New Milford. The O.P. landscape has been professionally laid out and manicured. Additionally, I was talking about the entire U W property and maybe a developer's rep explaining what would be built where.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Bob - You need to be a resident of New Milford to skate not a member of the swim club.

I assume you need to own your own ice skates?

Thank You to all the volunteers down at the skating rink. The rink is perfect. My family had a blast! Everyone was very very friendly. Hope the weather stays cold enough to get some more use out of it.

Darlene - They do have some skates available for use at the rink. Some figure, some hockey. Not many but there are some. If anyone has skates any donations would be appreciated.

Unfortunately the rink is currently closed due to the warmer weather. Hoping to open again towards the end of the week/weekend.
