Power FINALLY back on Berkshire Ave. !!!

I live in roselle my neighbor has lights and I don't ..they told us Monday ..today is Thursday I have a sick child that I have to keep shuffling from house to house..it's cold and I haven't being able to go back in my house since last week Monday ..I hope we get lights today..I live on east 5th ave

Of course uprooted sequoia type trees can't be helped, but I just wish we could prune branches which hang directly over power lines. On my block, over the past 10 years or so, I have had a minimum of ten to 15 or so outages. I know some Brookchester residents have also been freezing since the hurricane and my heart goes out to them, but in my particular district, it stinks to pay the taxes I do - look out the back yard and see residents on the northern fringe of the Brookchester with their windows open, the TV on - and we don't even have lights.

and if you want to buy a generator, the back order situation will get you one by St. Patrick's day............maybe.

Bet when your power came on you turned on lamps and the TV and turned the heat up. Isn't that flaunting it in the faces of those in NM who are still without power? So self-righteous and petty.

Dudley do right -Tell you what - YOU sit in my dark, cold house, looking out the back yard at some guy playing a radio,with the window open, as you use a flash light to find what you need, hoping the batteries hold out, while your food rots in the fridge and your family has no way to even get to work IF there is any work and tell me I have no right to get pissed off about "flaunting". turning up the heat and putting on your own house lights is NOT flaunting. There IS a big difference.

First, What does them paying taxes have anything to do with it? As you said, they dont even pay property taxes and yet they are given beneficial treatment when it comes to power restoration. So that means that we property owners are paying more to be treated less equally?????????????
Second, Don't bring Mr. Drake's son into this. Not for his sake, but because by saying what you said you are calling the rest of the people who voted for him idiots who voted for someone selfish when I believe he did not do anything to draw criticism from you.

in BOTH of my pieces above - regarding The Brookchester I made it quite clear that my heart went out for the seniors who had no power. I was QUITE explicit that the ones who were flaunting it, annoyed me greatly.

What is this - - Berlin 1942? I give MY OPINION and the next thing you do is take it out on and embarrass my son? As far as I'm concerned you are just someone trying to start a problem where there is none.

and Dudley according to your logic, the whole town should wait until the Mayor becomes aware that EVERYONE has power and then tells everyone - otherwise others will be accused of flaunting THEIR electric being on also.....

Now, now boys.....we are all in the same boat and we are all neighbors who want to be warm. This little feuding should be haulted before it gets out of hand and let's stop and think of lucky we really are. We could be one of the less fortunate people of Jersey who live by the shore and have no house to come home to. So we are inconvenienced for a little while, thats yesterday, today is different and tomorrow will make this a memory. Maybe we will all appreciate things a little better. Bless both of you and your families.

Let's all be grateful we don't live in breezy pt, moonachie, little ferry , you get the idea. Let us all be thankful we had no casualties in our community and the big picture.
