New Milford Veterans Day Celebration

New Milford honors those who once served, and those who proudly serve, in the American Armed Forces.

Once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi.

On a picture perfect Sunday morning, New Milford came out to pay tribute to the sacrifices paid by veterans and those actively serving in America's Armed Forces.

New Milford High School students sang "God Bless America" and played taps.

New Milford veterans from all branches of the military were represented, with veterans from the Marine Corps making an impressive showing.

Nov. 10 marked the 237th anniversary of the Marine Corps. Founded as the Continental Marines on Nov. 10, 1775, they pre-date American independence and have served in every American armed conflict.

Deeply felt congratulations to Commander Chester. As a truly honorable and devoted senior Commander, he was able to muster all his strength, stand proudly and walk softly to the podium.

But he did it!

God bless all our Vets.
