New Milford's Peggy Saslow Receives County Board of Ed Award
Bergen County School Board Association recognizes the achievements of Peggy Saslow by presenting her with an award for her dedication to service.
After serving 27 years as a teacher in the New Milford School district, Florence "Peggy" Saslow decided to lend her voice and educational insight to the Board of Education where, she says, "I serve with pride."
Her unwavering enthusiasm and dedication were recognized Monday night when she was awarded the Janet S. Lobsenz Award by the Bergen County Board of Education.
The Janet S. Lobsenz Award is presented to a Bergen County board member who shows a commitment to his or her professional development, as well as that of other board members in the county. The person also needs to demonstrate commitment to school governance, not only on a local level, but also at the county and state levels.
Upon hearing her name announced as recipient of the award, Saslow was rendered almost speechless. As she received this prestigious award, Peggy was joined by her family, New Milford School Superintendent Michael Polizzi, Business Administrator Michael Sawicz, BOE President Dan Conner, V.P. Darren Drake, and BOE member Joseph Steele.
