Community Spirit: New Milford's National Night Out
National Night Out a huge success as community gathers under the stars to enjoy a night out on the town.
The humidity broke long enough to make for a spectacular National Night Out as residents, town officials, business people and local organizations gathered together under the stars.
Organized by SRO Officer Keith Wester with the help of SRO Officer Bill Wilde, National Night Out included rides, amusements, live music from A Taste of Honey, face painting, ice cream, cotton candy and more.
The New Milford Fire Department provided free hot dogs courtesy of The Dog Waggin and offered rides in the bucket of the ladder truck.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Department and Bergen County Police Department were on hand to demonstrate their apparatus and K-9 unit.
The New Milford Auxiliary Police was on hand at the field, directing traffic and helping families safely cross River Road.

BTW, Chief Papapietro:
The three Auxiliary officers assigned to the Town Hall parking lot side, so very exemplified the professionalism your paid officers project every day!
Thanks guys and ladies.

This was a great night for SOD. We reached out to hundreds of residents, got signed petitions and raised residents' awareness of the disaster that is in their future if the water company property is allowed to be rezoned. My thanks to everyone who came out to help. This shows that New Milford can be united when the issue is as important as this one. Thanks, Ann for your work last night and for your continuing coverage of this issue.
