Flood Prone Towns Meet With DEP
Mayor Ann Subrizi, Councilwoman Hedy Grant and representatives from River Edge and Oradell met with representatives of the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) to discuss lowering the reservoir in advance of a storm, revising the current flood maps that date to 1982 and dredging the Hackensack River in an effort to control flooding.
Police Investigating String of Car Burglaries
New Milford police are urging residents to keep their car doors locked after a string of car burglaries and thefts occurred in the borough last weekend and into Monday.
Attempted Burglary at Welsh Farms
An attempted burglary occurred at Welsh Farms Monday evening. In an attempt to gain access into the store, the entrance door was damaged and an attempt had been made to pry open the interior doors, tripping the store's alarm system.
