You must be able recognize that if this teenager's mother had guns this could have easily been dozens of people instead of one poor woman. Your comment actually points out the difference by ignoring reality and I don't even have to call you an insulting name to make my point.

Uh, Yosemite, there are both Democrats and Republicans who support new gun laws.
And most people are fools where guns are concerned. This is just the tip of the iceberg:

It's easy to shoot someone, much harder to stab someone.
Knives are a functioning tool for people. They can be used in cooking, to sculpt, to open packages, to scale fish, etc. etc. How can you even compare the two?
Sorry, Yosemite, but the days of the Wild West are over.

Your rage, Sam, is exactly why we don't want you armed. But you'll still get to keep your guns despite the obvious fact of your lack of control and the disrespect you display towards your neighbors.

It's interesting that the screen name you have adopted is Yosemite Sam--an irrational, gun slinging, grouch with a hair-trigger temper. If this is how you see yourself, you should never be allowed to have access to guns.

It's not about banning guns, it's about better healthcare coverage instead of Obama's watered-down law. There should have been a public option, instead of the giveaway to insure companies "mandate." Austerity is draining resources that can be used to improve and enhance the healthcare system which would include MENTAL and dental!! www.firebrandcentral.com

To the two Janets, Hanoi Jane and Fake Tommy Paine,
Guns do not kill people and neither do knives for that matter. People kill people through their intent to kill. You could be stabbed in the neck with a pencil, which are also functioning tools for humans who like to write, so the functioning tool argument is illogical and flawed. Should we ban pencils too, morons??? You idiot liberals fail to realize that some people are evil and cannot be medicated or rehabilitated. If a person wants to inflict physical harm on another, does the object with which he does so really make a difference? Wake up, tree huggers!

Obviously it does make a difference, you can kill a lot more people with a gun that holds numerous bullets a lot more effectively than with a knife or a pencil.

By the way, not a moron or an idiot or unpatriotic - too bad you have resort to those tactics, instead of respectfully stating your opinion - it doesn't speak well of your character.

And I could knock you unconscious with a 2X4 and cut off your balls. The tool argument is not flawed, you are flawed and yes, anything can be used as a weapon, but that takes the kind of balls a gun owner doesn't have. It's very unlikely that a person wielding a knife could have cause the kind of damage the shooter inflicted on a theater full of people in Aurora. Robert, nobody is taking your rifle, nobody is taking your pistol, what the hell more do you need? Oh wait, you think there's going to be a government takeover. I assure you, if that day came, the military would nail your sorry ass to the wall and send your remains home in a CD case.

Are you a Tea bagger Robert? You sound like one. You generalize people. If somebody is for stricter gun control, you call them a "Tree Hugger" or they must be a Liberal. Where did the Tree Hugger thing come from and how does it relate to gun control? That doesn't even make sense. As for Liberal--there are both Liberals and Conservatives on both sides of the gun control issue--so why are you saying this? Are you that unaware of what's going on?
