Mayor and Council Meeting, Planning Board Meeting and More This Week
Rezoning studies, referendums and master plans--a look at the week ahead in New Milford
Two big items on the agenda for the work session portion of Monday's Mayor and Council meeting is the zoning board planner's rezoning report and discussion regarding a referendum on the proposed 'Field of Dreams' at David E. Owens Middle School.
At the June 12 work session, the mayor and council was presented with a preliminary draft of the rezoning study of the 13-acre United Water property by zoning board planner Paul Grygiel, of Phillips Preiss and Grygiel LLC. Mayor Ann Subrizi specifically asked that the planner address the location of New Milford's affordable housing requirement under COAH (Council On Affordable Housing) that the 2004 Master Plan rests solely on the United Water property.
The Executive work session will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs conference room at Borough Hall, but the first half-hour is devoted to closed session issues. and then the public will be invited into the open portion of the work session.
The public session will begin at 7:45pm in the council chambers.
There will be a combined session of the Planning Board Tuesday at 7:30 in the council chambers of Borough Hall.
The main item on the agenda is the review of Master Plan amendments, including acquisition of flood prone properties and updating ROSI list.
On Sunday, July 29, the New Milford Elks are hosting their monthly "More Than Pancake" Breakfast at the Lodge from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
There will be pancakes, eggs, sausage links and patties, bacon, potatoes and onions, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice.
The New Milford Elks are located on Patrolman Ray Woods Lane.
