I think the game 11 years ago at home was against Secaucus which we did not win. Their drum major looked like a penguin. (unkind, I know - but the final score led to my needle).
The playoff game at Cresskill which was played against Weehawken was a total heart breaker for our kids. Because of a hurricane (what else??) - our kids had NO field to play on for I believe most all of the year. We were up at the beginning of the overtime period, but according to high school rules, the opposing team has to have a chance to handle the ball: After the overtime kickoff return, first down for them NG, second down the same, third down, they scored a touchdown and then a P A T or maybe a two point conversion, I don't remember. BUT, as I do remember - they won the game! and I had to hear all about it from my friend Weehawken Mayor Rich Turner. i did respond to him - "Congratulations Rich, your kids did great - - - - and now they get to go back to Weehawken........" BTW, when are You moving up here to God's country?
At least it was a great example to lay on Defensive lineman Darren about hanging in there and not giving up. (Again, even though the Weehawken kids did win, it was a great life lesson.) Now, if we can only get the Giants to wake up................
