Commuters Could Pay For Working in New York
Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringers wants commuters from Paramus and everywhere else to pay for working in New York.
New Milford residents who commute into New York City could end up paying a tax for doing so if the Manhattan Borough president has his way.
Scott Stringer wants to reinstate a 0.45 percent tax taken from the salaries of workers who don't live in New York City.
More than 72,000 Bergen County residents commute to New York, NJ Spotlight reports.
Gov. Chris Christie, unsurprisingly, hates the idea, the Associated Press reports. He said New Jersey and New York should avoid "border wars."
The Star-Ledger editorial board called the proposal a "campaign stunt." Stringer is running for mayor in 2013.

Don't we already pay a tax called GWB toll, every day? What is wrong with government these days?

IF I worked in NYC, I'd pay it because I would have NO choice in the matter.
BUT
I WOULD make sure I got my money's worth from ALL of the supposed "services" NYC provides.
especially The Department of Sanitation.
