New Milford Woman Plans Clothing Drive To Help Flood Affected Towns

Donna Colucci organizes clothing drive for residents of Little Ferry, Moonachie and Carlstadt who have been displaced by Sandy.

New Milford resident Donna Colucci, wife of Councilman Dominic Colucci, is organizing a clothing drive to assist those residents of Little Ferry, Moonachie and Carlstadt who were displaced from their homes when the levee broke on the Hackensack River Monday evening.

"Seeing pictures of what these poor people are going through--what they lost--I just had to do something," Colucci said.

Colucci is no stranger to organizing events to help others. Last year she received an honor from Gov. Chris Christie recognizing her efforts in organizing "Labor Day of Love," a town-wide barbecue that took place just days after the floods of Irene.

Colucci is accepting clothing in good condition such as coats, sweaters, pants in all sizes for men, women and children for delivery in Little Ferry on Saturday.

If you are interested in donating clothes, please call Donna Colucci at 201-281-1832 to arrange for a drop off.

Donna, please let me know if there is anything you can do...i know people who want to donate clothes but are unable to travel due to lack of gas. Is there anyone that can possibly pick up some bags?

Thank you Ann for putting this out there. We finally got our power and we are finally seeing the devastation all over the coast on TV. It makes me sick in my stomach. Thank you to all the donors as far away as Fair Lawn and Emerson...We are up to 25 bags...Let's move together, God Bless and please stay safe.

I do not know if any of you will see this update, however, I just put my blog up that states another drive for Tooth paste, toilet paper, paper plates, plastic utensils, soap, shampoo, blankets, baby food and diapers. Again if you would like to drop off BEFORE WED. I will get them to the person (my cousin) going to Bayville this week. Call me for delivery 201-281-1832
