New Milford Run, Loyalty Day and Derby Day, and more in New Milford

MaryBeth Hubbard, Director of the New Milford Senior Center, retired last week after many years of dedicated service. A party was held to wish her well and thank her for all that she accomplished during her tenure. Lynn Sullivan will be the new director.

During Monday's Mayor and Council meeting, Mayor Ann Subrizi said that the town received a block grant for $46,000 that will allow for the completion of renovations at the Senior Center.

For the second year in a row, New Milford has been named Tree City.

Fresh & Fancy Farms will celebrate the opening of its new barn on Saturday, May 3. Families are invited for a fun day at the farm.

The New Milford VFW will be hosting 'Loyalty Day' on Saturday, May 4, 1 p.m. at the VFW. Eagle Scout William Duby and Donna Colucci are being honored.

New Milford Little League and Junior League will be having their annual 'Shake the Helmet' Booster fundraiser on May 4 and May 5.

The annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 27. The parade begins at 9:15 followed by a short ceremony in front of Borough Hall.

The annual New Milford 5K Run/Walk and Kids Dash, sponsored by Fire Company 1, will be on Saturday, June 15. Click here for more information.

The New Milford Drug and Alcohol Municipal Alliance Committee will be hosting its annual fishing derby on June 22 at Hardcastle Pond behind the Brookchester Mall.
